Breakfast White Egg does't Make It Sleepy

If you often sleepy before lunch, maybe you eat the wrong breakfast. Try changing breakfast menu with eggs, especially boiled egg whites. Proteins contained in it helps you stay awake and feel alert.

Scientists have found that egg proteins, especially those found in the whites of eggs, can help people stay awake and feel alert, so it is not easy sleepy during the move.

Proteins in egg white is more effective than carbohydrates found in chocolate, biscuits or sweets are often relied upon to improve the energy quickly.

Cambridge University researchers studying how nutrition affects the brain cells that make people stay awake and help burn calories.

A mixture that is similar to egg white protein activates the brain cells, thereby triggering the release of orexin stimulant. While sugar actually block the release of orexin, so that eating sugar will make people drowsy easy.

Orexin hormone is a hormone produced in the brain. Orexin hormone deficiency often found in patients narcolepsia, ie, excessive drowsiness during the day which sometimes trigger uncontrollable sleep attacks. Orexin hormone release will reduce sleepiness and makes people more awake.

"What's interesting is how a rational way to 'tune' the brain cells become more or less active in deciding what food to be eaten. Research shows that if you have a choice between butter on white toast or egg on toast, then the choose the second one (white eggs on toast), "explained Dr. Denis Burdakov, researchers from Cambridge University, as reported by Dailymail, Friday (11/18/2011).

Even though both of these options contain the same number of calories, egg white has more protein will tell your body to burn more calories than consumed.

This discovery has been published in the journal Neuron.
