So Dangerous When Baby Crying

Have you ever heard the advice to parents not to rush them to calm a crying baby that will not spoiled? According to an expert, just let the baby cry can be harmful to growth. Why?

Darcia Narvaez, a psychology professor from Notre Dame reveal his opinion on the matter. According to the method of 'letting a baby cry' is dangerous because it can kill infant brain cells.

Narvaez explained, when the baby is stressed, their bodies release cortisol, a hormone that can kill brain cells. Meanwhile, when the new born, new baby's brain develops 25% and growing very fast in their first year. So if the baby cries, as one reaction when they are stressed, these actions could kill enough brain cells.

Writing in Psychology Today, Narvaez membebeberkan a number of studies that support his statements. Research conducted at Harvard University, Yale, Baylor and other universities say, kills brain cells of high-risk infants causes ADHD, academic ability decreases and tends to make the baby grow up to be an anti-social.

"Baby hope they stay in a comfortable womb after birth. The baby wants to continue being held, fed, needs met as soon as possible," wrote Narvaez.

"All of it was done so that the baby's brain development and body good. When the baby shows discomfort, it is a sign of its needs are not met, but it is important for its growth needs," he added.

Narvaez also said, let the baby cry as well make it not learn the ability to control yourself. Babies are very dependent on the caregiver whether it's you, husband, grandparents or a babysitter, while learning to control himself. Responsive parenting, immediately give the baby what she needs before she stressed, making the body and calm the baby's brain. When the baby feel scared and parents to calm him down, so build up expectations for the baby calmed, it will build its ability to make himself comfortable.

But you need to remember, your baby will not be able to make himself comfortable if she is isolated. If the baby is allowed to continue to cry alone, they will stop growing, learning to feel and believe.

Why trust can be killed when the baby left to cry? Famous German psychologist, Erik Erikson once revealed, the first year of life is an important time to build trust in the world, a world of people who nurture him and the world itself. When your baby needs met without having to feel the stress, he learned that the world is a place that can be trusted. Meanwhile, if the baby's needs are ignored, he will develop into a difficult person to believe in a relationship and the world itself.
