Pain Make Difficult Sleep, Difficult Sleep Make Pain

People usually have trouble sleeping when his body ached. But it turns out people who have trouble sleeping will also impact on the difficulty restrain or control the pain that plagued her. Researchers found the pain and difficulty sleeping have a reciprocal relationship.

Patients with pain syndromes often feels exhausted from his body have trouble sleeping or not sleeping soundly. While poor sleep quality can form a vicious circle between pain and uncontrolled pain that makes it difficult to sleep.

In turn, poor sleep will cause more difficult to control the pain well. So the pain and insomnia does have a reciprocal relationship.

Sleep and pain in the end both are controlled by the central nervous system.

Most doctors know very well that the pain is not controlled would cause difficulty sleeping. But doctors often do not think about sleep disturbances experienced by patients who separate and can trigger pain. For this reason, it is important for people with chronic pain to evaluate the activity of sleep as a whole.

This needs to be done to determine whether there is an underlying cause. If the patient has a condition like sleep apnea or restless legs syndrome, the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders can make a huge impact on the activity of sleep. While the quality of sleep as a result will affect the quality of life.

Unfortunately, many people with chronic pain syndrome do not have a sleep disorder are easily diagnosed. But patients may have a sleep disorder of unknown or undiagnosed.

Patients also tend to spend more time in light sleep stages and has a non-specific characteristics, which are known from the electroencephalogram (EEG).

EEG is used to measure brain electrical activity during sleep. This finding is referred to as alpha intrusion. The cause of a particular brain wave pattern is unknown, but has been associated with different disorders that cause chronic pain or chronic fatigue.

No special care is devoted to alpha intrusion. Usually doctors are just trying to treat the pain syndrome and any underlying primary sleep disorder patients possessed. Until now the question is whether sleep disorders can actually cause fatigue or pain syndromes.
