Liam Wood (13 years) who played football for the Saints AFC team, suddenly collapsed after running on the pitch to celebrate its success scored the fifth goal in front of his father and grandfather. Allegedly he was tired and having problems with the heart.
He also had seizures so immediately rushed to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire by ambulance. Unfortunately, his life could be saved and died some time after arriving at the hospital.
"He was brilliant, he loved football. It is a tragedy and we are all still in shock," said manager klup, Mark Lawton.
Stafford Falcons opposing team manager, Geoff Green, tells the tragic chronology Liam. According to him, Liam scored a goal and he ran on the field to celebrate. But not long ago, he collapsed and fell on the floor, even it happens in front of the family who were watching the game.
He scored the fifth goal before the referee blew the final whistle the game with the score 5-0.
In a short time, he was also aware. It looks as if stopped breathing, so we started to resuscitate him and cardiac resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for the ambulance arrived. It all happened so fast.
Hundreds of people mourned the departure of St. John Fisher School students and a Facebook page 'RIP Liam Wood' has been established to honor Liam.
